Sony cuts PlayStation Vita and memory card prices
With the portable gaming industry finally getting a much needed surge of titles, Sony has finally announced what a lot of gamers have patiently waiting for, price drops for the PlayStation Vita and it’s propriety memory cards.
Sony has officially announced that the handheld console will drop price to $199 for North America and €199 in Europe for both the WiFi only model and the 3G/WiFi model (yes, both models are now similarly priced).
As for the memory cards, pricing is as follows:
4GB Memory Card – $14.99 (was $19.99)
8GB Memory Card – $19.99 (was $29.99)
16GB Memory Card – $39.99 (was $59.99)
32GB Memory Card – $79.99 (was $99.99)
Compared to typical microSD pricing, Sony’s propriety memory cards still have quite a premium on them which might put off a few prospective buyers but at least the console is now a bit more affordable.
