Wii U hits one million units sold for Japan
The Wii U has taken 33 weeks to hit this milestone. In comparison, the Wii took (six weeks) while the 3DS took 13 weeks. While initial sales of the Wii U is slow (and it still is), it’s in a similar situation to the PlayStation 3’s early into it’s life cycle where there was only a limited number of titles available for the console and while it’s predecessor continues to sell well.
Members of NeoGaf put the numbers together and found that the Wii U‘s sales (hardware and software) are tracking ahead of the PS3 and Vita launch equivalents, while it remains well behind the 3DS and the wildly successful Wii.
