The Last of Us sales exceed 3.4 million, becomes fastest-selling PlayStation 3 title to date
Naughty Dog is sitting atop a stack of fat cash at the moment as it’s latest title, The Last of Us has already sold 3.4 million units worldwide in it’s first three weeks of release.
Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios had this to say:
“These sales figures are a testament to the blockbuster quality of The Last of Us. The teams at Naughty Dog are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. SCE continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example.”
I hope publishers with the titles of similar genre *cough*Capcom*cough*Resident Evil*cough* take note of Naughty Dog’s and The Last of Us’s success. This is how you do a proper survival horror game.
The Last of Us was released in mid-June and is still doing quite well.
