Previously teased by Hideo Kojima, Konami has officially unveiled the limited edition Metal Gear Solid themed Snakeskin Nintendo 3DS.

Now, as with most limited edition hardware, this is a Japan-only affair. The sad part is that it’s going to be sold exclusively through the Japanese Konami Style store AND to avail of it you’ll win a special lottery for an unspecified number of units :/ Y U MAKE IT SO HARD KONAMI?

If you manage to snag a winning entry, you’ll be able to buy the Premium Package for 22,980 yen (about $300) which includes:

• A snakeskin Nintendo 3DS
• A copy of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
• A couple of clear plastic files and decals

Pretty hefty considering that the Limited Edition Zelda 3DS sold for $200 (though I guess that was a special case since it was part of a Black Friday Sale promotion)

Both the game and the Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Premium Package will be launching in Japan on March 8th.
