Nintendo 3DS gets it’s first actual flash cart
Well that didn’t take long, it seems that the Nintendo 3DS will finally have it’s first made-for-3DS cart soon.
Crown3DS, the project name, is a new flashcard that’s in active development and is currently capable of running Splinter Cell 3D, bypassing Nintendo’s beefed up security. So much for the 3DS being pirate-proof Nintendo. Then again, there’s still that rumored anti-piracy kill switch so things might not be in the clear just yet.
If you’re wondering what good is a flash cart/card for aside from playing backed-up game copies, it also allows you to bypass Nintendo’s draconian limit on the 3DS: Region-lock.
