Blizzard’s newest World of Warcraft expansion has broken all records PC game record sales, moving 3.3 million unit sales on day one.  That should come as no surprise however, as half of everyone on the planet plays World of Warcraft — yes, literally half the planet plays WoW.  And yes, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is currently the “fastest selling PC game, ever.”

And the previous record holder?  World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, which sold 2.8 million copies in one day back in 2008.

It’s a great day for Blizzard isn’t it?  And who says PC gaming is dead?
