Sony drops PSP Go price to $199
A case of too little too late for Sony and the PSP Go but then again, it’s better late than never. Sony has just announced a price cut for the PSP Go, from $249 to $199 way ahead of the holiday season.
The PSP Go is still in direct competition with Sony’s UMD-equipped model, the PSP-3000. On the Nintendo side, the PSP Go is now just $30 more expensive than the Nintendo DSi XL and $50 more than the Nintendo DSi.
Estimates put the sales figures of the PSP Go last year at a meager 140,300, in comparison, the Nintendo DS – including all its variants – sells upwards of 250,000 units each month.
