HowTo: Upgrade your PSP to 6.20 OFW

Here are the instructions on how to upgrade your PSP to 6.20 OFW so you can install any of the following Hen to run Homebrew or ISO backups of PSP games:
- 6.20 TN-E (recommended)
- 6.20 Pro-B7 (recommended)
- 6.20 Pro-B6
- 6.20 TN-D
- 6.20 Pro-B5
- 6.20 Pro-B4
- Signed 6.20 Hen
- 6.20 Hen
Requirements:
Download 6.20 OFW for your PSP model
How to upgrade your PSP to 6.20 OFW
- Extract the FW zip file on your PSP
- Copy the resulting EBOOT.PBP to x:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE (x is your memory stick or the PSP Go‘s storage)
- On your PSP, run the 6.20 updater.
- Follow on screen prompts
I have a psp 3000 with firmware version 6.37…. which is the CFW that is right for my psp
There isn’t a CFW or Hen for 6.37 🙁
Thanks Sylv3rblade for your response… So what can I do to be able to have CFW in my psp. Can I downgrade… how can I get what I need to downgrade? Also if I am able to downgrade, what would be the CFW that I would need?
As of now, all current known exploits for your firmware version has been patched. That means no CFW, no downgrading 🙁
So the only thing I can do is wait to see if a CFW is created for OFW 6.37

By the way, why did you update? Or was it an accident?
I recently bought it on EBAY, and it came with that 6.37 version.

Yes, just be sure to unload hen (turn off your PSP) before upgrading
I recently bought a psp from ebay with a custom shell so I don’t know if its a 2000 or a 3000 series, it is not a fat one for sure… it has firmware version 5.00 m33-4. I tried installing gen d3 but the psp just turns off. Also I tried downloading 5.00 m33-5 and 5.00 m33-6, but it sems that the files are no longer available for download. What can I do to be able to play the latest games?

You need to install a HEN + ISO loader or LCFW to play your games again.
Sir can i upgrade my psp slim 4.01 ofw with TA v88 MB to 6.20 Pro B-9 Permanent. (I already upgrade it to 5.03 and using 5.03 GEN-C (Full)).
Yes you can. Any PSP below 6.20 can update to this frmware and install the latest 6.20 PRO-B release (in this case 6.20 PRO-B10)
sir, meaning its permanent unlike the hen before when you remove the battery or low battery it will return to the original OFW then install again the Chickhen.
ummmm sir will this method work on a psp 1004 5.50 prome-4
Note: when i bought it it was on 5.50 gen-D3 CFW then i upgraded it to 5.50 prome-4
You’ll need to revert to OFW before updating. To do that, follow the instructions here and instead of installing the custom firmware, install the official one.
